The Quake-Catcher Network is a collaborative initiative for developing the worlds largest, low-cost strong-motion seismic network by utilizing sensors in and attached to internet-connected computers. Many laptops already have accelerometers inside of them. If you have a MacBook, iBook or Powerbook (purchased 2005 or later, and wish to participate in this technology, check it out at:
